This past Friday I went to a nutritionist. She was very helpful and motivating. Although, it was most things I already knew. She did however really encourage me to go the Low-Carb approach for a month and try it out. I took a nutrition test and gave her my health history with my Thyroid information.
She felt this would be a good kick start. She gave me a lot of tips. I would like to share after I test some out.
Have any of you ever been on a Low-Carb and found it successful? Do you have any recipes to share?

I never made a concious attempt to go low-carb but did work hard to make sure I was eating a balanced diet...which actually resulted in me cutting my carbs way back...because I was on WAY CARB OVERLOAD pre-healthiness. Maybe a good idea would be to not think of it as going low-carb, but just trying to eat more of other things besides carbs!
I eat way too many carbs, but like Jen, I also don't ever do the low carb thing, I just try to balance everything out so I'm eating more veggies and fruits which naturally doesn't leave room in my tum for too many carbs. OH why Oh why do carbs have to be bad? LOL
Hi, I just stumbled onto your site. Very cute. I'm trying to get healthy again and struggling. I lost 53 pounds 5 years ago doing South Beach. I really loved it and felt so great. Well, I have gained the weight back. I really believe that the 2 weeks of no carbs is helpful for me to get rid of the cravings, I'm just having a hard time getting my head into the mode again. I know I can do it, I'm just feel so lazy.
Anyway, it might help you.
Sugar Busters is an interesting book to read to explain the low GI diet/healthy carb vs. white starchy carbs. Makes a lot of sense.
You can get it from the library for free.
